The Cacao Farm in Virtual Reality

Published September 22, 2020

Hi Chocolate Lover,

I recently posted this video to YouTube using the VR180 format, which is virtual reality but only in 180 degrees (meaning you can look left and right and up and down but not behind you). I’m a real gadget lover and when I saw the Lenovo VR180 camera I snapped one up around the middle of last year and took it with me into the cacao farm.

I want to give you the chance to see the cacao farm like I do.

First off, you need to be either watching this on your phone OR a VR headset. You don’t need a VR headset and in many ways it’s cooler just on your phone, the idea being YOU can move the phone around and literally look around the scene. Pretty cool!

BUT there’s an important caveat (love that word) you need to be watching the video in the HIGHEST RESOLUTION POSSIBLE (so hit the gear icon and choose a high res setting). Otherwise everything looks pretty fuzzy like a low res video from the days when phones had actual buttons…

So for me, I’m not sure if I’m going to be doing more of this format. Maybe in special cases, so we’ll see! In the meantime click the link below, crank up the resolution to the highest possible and enjoy a stroll with me in the cacao farm!

Until next time!
